Catalonia Albinoni is a 3 star hotel in Barcelona.
It is a pleasure to enter the CATALONIA ALBINONI and admire its Neoclassical beauty. The hotel is located in the heart of Barcelona, in the cultural and shopping centre, just a few steps from Placa Catalunya and the Cathedral. The building has been added to the Artistic Heritage catalogue of the city. Pedro Bassegoda i Mateu built this small palace in 1876, and in 1998 it opened its doors as a hotel. The hotel still preserves its original Neoclassical facade which features Romantic and Baroque motifs. The entry hall, which would be large enough to let in the carriages from the beginning of the century, leads us to the interior courtyard that has been renovated according to the original model. The hotel reception and bar are currently in this courtyard. There we can admire the original marble staircase, typical of the finest houses of those times.All rooms are carefully decorated and equipped with air conditioning, minibar, direct dial telephone, interactive satellite TV with pay-per-view movies, Canal +, safe deposit box and complete marble bathroom with a hair dryer. This hotel stands out for two reasons: the exceptional helpfulness of the front desk staff and the excellent location. The Avenida Portal de l' Angel is a pedestrian street just south of the Plaza Catalunya, a block away from La Rambla and a short walk to theMetro,the cathedral, the Barri Gotic and La Ciutat Vella. Our only complaint would be that its restaurant was a bit high-priced for our budget. Overall,we would not hesitate to recommend it .

This hotel is an excellent situation for buses, beach, sightseeing and shopping. The rooms were a good size and very clean. Breakfast was included in our tariff and it was superb, spoilt for choice. Staff very helpful. Definitely happy to recommend this hotel to others.

Hotel reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Bedroom was fine, the breakfast was great, location was super. On my next stay in Barcelona I would book this hotel again, we had a very enjoyable stay.
