Reviews Of Best Western Hotel Orion, Budapest,

Review by: Andrew, Manchester, United Kingdom

Stayed: Dec 2007

A good, no-nonsense option on the Buda side of the city. We had booked 2 singles, but were delighted to have been alotted 2 doubles at no extra cost! We were impressed with the size of the bedrooms, although the bathrooms were perhaps on the small side. The small, basic eating area served a European-style breakfast, but nothing beyond that. This was not a problem, however, as there are many bars and eateries within a short walk of the hotel. Each member of staff we met was friendly, polite and extremely helpful; they all contributed to our having a most enjoyable stay. The location of the Best Western Orion is great, too - close to the Elizabeth Bridge, it's less than 15 minutes' walk to the heart of the city; yet being situated on a quiet side street a good, peaceful nights' sleep is assured. Good, value-for-money hotel. Would recommend.

We would recommend this small friendly hotel on the Pest side of the river. It was near the chain bridge and access to most places was very easy. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good and nothing was too much trouble for the staff who were mostly family members. We would certainly go there again.

This small hotel located on the hills of Buda is wonderful. Just 5 minutes walk from the Elizabeth bridge and the busy spots of Pest. There's a tram across the street that will take you to the bottom of the castle district
The hotel's staff is very friendly and accomodating. The breakfasts are simple but of excellent quality.

I recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to visit the wonderful city of Budapest.

Hotel was clean, staff were very helpful. Hotel is in walking distance of the sights on the Buda side of the city and a short walk to either the Chain Bridge or Elizabeth Bridge to cross the river to get to Pest side. Our room was on the back of the building making the room was quiet. Don't expect a view of the city from this hotel as it sits in a side street.

Good centrally located hotel on the Buda side of the River between the Elizabeth and chain bridges.

Rooms are air condionned for heating (and presumably cool in summer). The TV has BBC World and CNN as well as german, italian and hungarian channels. There is a reasonably priced minibar.

Breakfast is fine - typical continental fare of bread, cheeses and meats, yoghurts etc. They also prepare eggs to order.

There are severla restaurants nearby on the Buda side of the river, or you can venture over the Elizabeth bridge ti Via Utca which also has a range of restaurants.

Lots to see and do in Budapest - we wlaked over 25 miles in three days seeing the sights. Highlights include the baths - swimming in the 40 degree outdoor pool when he air temperature is sub zero was wonderful, and the range of historic buildings and museums.
