Room exactly as shown on the web page. We paid the extra for river view / updated rooms. The baths are an experience.

Very nice hotel, good value for money, ideal location, friendly staff and the added bonus of free use of the famous Gellert Baths. The only downside was the room that was a bit dated, but it was spotlessly clean and tidy. Would strongly recommend.

The booking process through skoosh.com was seamless (thanks skoosh!). The Gellert Hotel was expecting us. Based on advice we paid a little extra and got the superior river view rooms (as we heard the smaller rooms wern't that great). Skoosh provided me with the cheapest price around for the superior river view rooms. The hotel has real character and while not the most plush, it makes you feel like you are staying in Hungary as opposed to one of the more 'generic' hotels. The location is great, on the danube with easy access to the main streets just a short hop across the bridge. Endless use of traditional thermal pools downstairs in the building are part of the deal which adds to the experience. Breakfast, also included, is a large, good quality, buffet in a dining room that overlooks the danube. Definitely recommend (but make sure you get one of the rooms overlooking the river).

Whilst the room I stayed in was rather dated it was comfortable and clean. The building itself is very grand, the staff helpful, the location excellent, and the thermal baths a real bonus. I would certainly stay there again.

Stayed in Superior double: excellent. Good value, very nice room and fine view of river and bridge.

Stayed in cheapest single before: slightly dingy, but good value for money as includes an excellent breakfast and use of the baths.

The hotel was better than my expectations. The location was excellent, well situated for all modes of transport including 'feet'! The room was clean and comfortable and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The use of the spa certainly added something extra! I would certainly recommend it to others.

It is probably worth to take a trip to Budapest just for the sake of the Hotel Gellert experience: the Old World / Belle Epoque grandeur, magnificent location and great service, not to forget free and convenient access to the excellent Baths - one of the best attractions the city has to offer. The Panorama restaurant comes highly recommended, too. On the negative side - their single rooms are in need of renovation and are arguably slightly worse value than the other options.

Hotel was great. Worth upgrading to superior room for the lovely views over the Danube. Fantastic breakfast. Pools/spa much less impressive in reality than they looked in the photos, but worth it for the 'experience'! Would recommend the hotel.

The hotel was stunning. All staff spoke english and were helpful with transport etc as taxi drivers can overcharge tourists. The only disappointing factors were timekeeping. The hotel was rigid about shutting the bars and restaurants at 11 or 12 at night and breakfast was a rushed affair even if you arrived half an hour before closing. The hotel was in a fantastic location as the Buda side of the city is a little more attractive. Trips organised through the hotel were also of a good quality e.g a trip on the Danube stopping at Margaret Island.
